Going With The Flow

Well you probably remember the excitement of waiting for the Sevenoaks team from Abbotsford, that was going to lead a 4 night English Intensive course.  Well due to some difficulties with the airline they booked with (who has since claimed bankruptcy) the flights were canceled.  So after a night of disappointment we moved on.  We know that God is in control of this situation and that one day we will be able to offer our Mexican friends and their friends an opportunity to take some more English classes.  Thank you for praying in advance for this team and we look forward to welcoming them here at another time.

Thank you Innisfail!!

What a great weekend!  Although the youth were tired from their trip to Costa Rica, they did an excellent job connecting and put their heart into our 2 day VBS in the park.  They dressed up as clowns, helped with music, games and crafts.  They even handed out invites to our pancake breakfast.  Our team was able to chat with some of the parents and answer any of the questions.   I love the promise that we have, God's word never returns void!  Sunday morning we had about 10 new people for breakfast at La Conexion as a result of the event in the park and a trip we took to Xochimilco where we took a boat ride with the youth team and many from La Conexion.  My favorite story is listening to a couple share that they heard the singing in the park and were so curious that they had to come and find out what was going on.  As a result they received  an invite to come get to know us.  We are thankful for each child and adult who joined us for the first time, we are praying that they will be touched by the holy spirit and experience new life through him!  Next week we are receiving a team of 10 from Abbotsford who are going to help us run a 4 night english course!  We are praying already that those who need to attend will be there.  We pray that our La Conexion family will grow from this event as well!!

Watching Seeds Grow

Last night we had a worship/prayer night with a group of 17 youth and leaders visiting from Innisfail, in preparation for this weekends events.  We will be running a 2 day VBS in the park and handing out invites to La Conexion to join us this Sunday for a pancake breakfast and hear a bit of who we are.  We prayed that God would bring prepared people to hear about his love and grace.  Tonight we are having an event for women, and are praying that the women will leave being refreshed and feeling accompanied on their journeys where ever they find themselves.  But the most exciting part for me, was last night seeing our Mexican friends come out and join us in praying for the weekends events.  I am so proud of many of my friends that are interested in reaching other Mexican's and sharing what they have already experienced walking with Jesus, the peace and hope that can not be found anywhere else.   As I looked around the room last night and saw at least 15 of our Mexican friends who had joined us, I felt like a proud mother watching children taking some of their first steps, what a sweet aroma it must of been in heaven!
love Sandra

August Already

Well its been a crazy month, but if you can believe it a little more crazier than the Kliewer normal :)
We started with having 2 weeks to move and found a place in 2 days (not bad!)
Discovered that we had no water!
Then we left after 3 days for a previous booked family time away.
After a finally getting water we now have no hot water :)
but we are thinking of it as a way of spending more time with our team hahahahaha as we have been borrowing their apartments to shower :)

We have a birthday party for one of our dear friends at La Conexion this Friday night, as a great opportunity to encourage and love her!

Saturday 2 of our team members are repeating there wedding for all of our Mexican friends and family
Did I mention I am making the wedding cake :)

in the next three weeks we will be receiving 2 teams from Canada, one to do a kids club in the park and the second one to offer a week english class.

The girls are starting school in a few weeks so we are busy getting our multiplication tables up to speed.

Did I mention I have to be finished the course that I am working on in October and I am not even half way done....

We can't wait to receive our teams and post pictures and give you the updates on how our time went!  This is a picture of Susan (the bride) and myself at a shower we threw for her!
