As we walk through San Jose
We were informed today at school that crime is up from past years. Twice last week on the same street as our school people were held up at gun point. This is expected however around Christmas time here as the thieves anticipate people carrying more money or gifts on them for the Christmas season. But because of the increased number of specific crimes in this area some churches in the area have decided to meet together in the park by our house this Saturday to pray for the area that we live in San Francisco de Dos Rios. If you remember please pray for protection over us as we walk to school each day and walk home and as travel around the city. Pray especially that we will remember how it is God's hand that is protecting us each moment of our day and not let fear have any place in our lives.
we love and appreciate your support! If you doubt how effective it is just read the past blogs!!

Happy Anniversary to us!
Well its hard to believe we have been married for 9 years already! Life has been so full that it seems to have flown by! I guess having three children and a whole lot of school has helped with that. We can hardly believe that we only have one month left in our first trimester of Language school. We still have days where we wonder if we will actually be able to survive in Latin America speaking spanish! But it is also important to see how far we have come...no I am not talking about flying here from Canada. I think a theme that I have been learning lately is doing things in love. Costa Rican's have so much that they can teach us about life. When they talk about doing something whether it is a professional sports player or the way that you make tamales there is a way that Costa Rican's put their heart into what they are doing. An expression we have heard many times here is "we are doing it out for love!" Relationships ARE the culture not just a part of the culture.....hhmmm something to think about as North Americans in our "time is money" culture eh!?
We are feeling more settled and my goal from last weekend was to find a Christmas tree. I had no idea if I would find one or how much it would cost but I found one!!! Yipee. We had a great time setting it up and listening to Christmas tunes and had some friends over to enjoy the event. I think we felt a little home sick when we were putting up the tree however there is still no SNOW!!!! The first picture is of our new car HAHAHAHA.
