4 Months to go
Well it is that time again where the countdown has started to go back to Mexico City. We are planning on returning the beginning of June. Which means starting to purge through books and things we wont be keeping in storage for 4 years. I find it hard to hear the news about Mexico especially the violent crimes against Canadians. So I am aware of how much more I need to guard my heart against any type of fear that would want to distract me. You see the joy and privilege that we have of getting to know and love our Mexican friends far out weighs anything else. I am reminded of the greatness of the God we serve, who protected the Isrealites with a pillar of fire at night and a cloud by day, knowing that he goes before us and not one step that we take will be on our own.
This is a painting that reminds me of Exodus 34, Where God tells Moses that he is sending his angel ahead of him to drive out his enemies and prepare the land for him. He then says that he will send the hornet ahead to drive out his enemy.

Almost A Year?
Well its official, in just 2 weeks, we will have been home for a year. It seems like we just got here and it seems like its been so long all at the same time. The hearts of international workers really are an inexplicable thing. While we are enjoying being here with all the blessings of relationships we can tell that our hearts are ready to go back. What does that sound like you ask? Our children begging to go back ASAP and the cold weather starting... just kidding :) It also means that we have a peace that fills us and excites us about the possibilities of all that waits for our family as we once again walk out in faith and the faithfulness of our God. We know that he never promised us that it would be easy or that we would never grow tired but he has promised us that he will always walk beside us and he will always work things together for us if we love him and are wanting to serve him. That is what excites us and knowing that the end result is that we will always be shaped a little bit more like our savior and we will glow just a little bit more with the love that he has shown us.
